Meditation course for unwaged

A special four week course in meditation will be held for people out of work in Ballina and Westport, Co. Mayo.  Starting on January 10th, the course will run over four afternoons – Mondays in Westport and Tuesdays in Ballina.  Participants will learn an easy and comfortable technique that is proven to be highly effective in combatting stress.

 Meditation is scientifically proven to be one of the most effective methods of alleviating stress, and of healing the accumulated effects of stress in the body and mind.  Other benefits include normalised blood pressure, enhanced sleep patterns and increased immunity.  Regular meditators also report an increased sense of inner peace and happiness.

 This course will dispel myths and expectations around meditation that impede many people’s attempts to meditate.  Participants will learn a technique that is easy and comfortable to practice and will gain full confidence in their ability to meditate effectively. 

 No special clothing or equipment is needed, as the meditation takes place sitting in chairs with back support.  Participants will be fully equipped to meditate themselves any time or place where they can sit and close their eyes for five minutes.
